The Winter School Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiology is an intensive course aimed to promote international exchange of ideas, experience and knowledge about MSK Radiology offering specific skills in the field of imaging.
The MSK is held in English language by the speakers and the target audience is composed by 20 to 25 delegates including residents, fellows, radiology trainees and radiologists.
The course is organized by Giuseppe Guglielmi, Professor of Radiology at the University of Foggia, Italy and is endorsed by the International Office of University of Foggia, by the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR) and the Italian Society of Medical Radiology (SIRM).
In the morning the faculty members present their lectures covering most of the msk topics, including pediatric (degenerative bone diseases, osteoarthritis, trauma, tumor, osteonecrosis, benign and malignant vertebral fractures, metabolic bone disease, rare diseases, osteo-oncology, infection, muscle nerve imaging, interventional procedure and forensic radiology) described by plain radiographs, US, CT, MRI, PET-CT, bone scintigraphy.
In the afternoon, the participants are divided in groups and follow their tutor in case presentation section and hands-on on ultrasound.
The meeting is not only a didactic opportunity but, thanks to the wide variety of activities designed to the participants, it represents a social moment to share with all participants from all over the world. In particular excursions, tours and wine tastings are included in the course to exploit the cultural traditions of the Italian country. A final party will end this experience to say goodbye to everyone.
The MSK winter school takes place in the Referral Cancer Center of Basilicata (CROB), located in Rionero in Vulture (PZ), in the northern area of the Basilicata region (South of Italy).
